A Year of 5/3/1: The Results

I met Gabe at the Arnold Classic and posted before about his amazing progress and blog.  His goals prior to the starting the 5/3/1 program were:

  • Squat: 450
  • Bench: 300
  • Deadlift: 500

Under his own admission, he thought these goals were pipe dreams. After a year of training with the 5/3/1 program, his lifts were:

  • Squat: 515
  • Bench: 300
  • Deadlift: 565

His body also went from a "skinny fat" of 164 pounds to a very muscular 184.  You can check out his body transformation on his website.  The improvement of his body and his lifts were amazing.  Congratulations to Gabriel on making an amazing commitment to himself and his goals.  This is a testament to smart and hard work.  And I appreciate and thank you for trusting the program.  

In his own words, here are the simple lessons that Gabriel learned:

"Programs work. Pick one and let it mature. Have faith in your program. Make eating and sleeping priority number one. If you do those three things, you will make progress. This sh*t isn't complicated. It's been awesome, later, guys. P.S. STRETCH."
