Weight vest walking in bad weather, for me, is largely dependent on my mental state. As an example, over the past 10 years or so I had a realization that my life (and most of us, if we are honest, fall into this category) is pretty easy. I'm not saying things aren't hard for some people. I'm not saying that I know what everyone is going through and to "pull yourself up by the bootstraps". I'm saying that I don't have to hunt/forage for my food, there's not a 50% chance that my wife will die in childbirth, I dook in clean toilet water, I have A/C and heat in my home and I generally don't fear for my life when I go to sleep.

These are all things that humans had to deal with for thousands and thousands of years. So even if your job sucks and your wife is a nag, life is generally better now than it was 1000 years ago.

And I know that as I've gotten older, because life is so easy, I've become weaker. And the only way I know how to combat this without doing something stupid is by making training HARD. You need to be uncomfortable.

Weight vest walking in inclement weather is one of the easiest, safest ways for you to test yourself and to have gratitude for what you have. Does this mean I'm going to walk while there is a tornado? No. But if its raining out, you can walk. If it's cold, unless you live in Barrow, Alaska - you will be fine. Dress appropriate and see how miserable you can be. People are so quick to be "safe/happy" that they forget what it's truly like to be both.

We are stronger and harder than we could ever imagine - and like your muscles/lungs, this needs to be trained.
